As the supreme epicentre of Shaivism and one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple draws hundreds of thousands of pilgrims daily. Following the inauguration of the transformative Kashi Vishwanath Corridor connecting the temple directly to the sacred Ganga at Manikarnika, Lalita, and Jalasen Ghats, crowd management protocols have been completely modernized.

Sugam Darshan (VIP Facilitated Entry) Protocols

• Online Token Slot Allocation: Sugam Darshan passes (INR 300 per pilgrim on weekdays, INR 500 on auspicious festivals) must be reserved in advance through the official Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust portal or via Varanasi DMC's authorized concierge desk.
• Designated Corridor Gate: VIP pass holders enter via Gate No. 4 (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Gate) on the corridor plaza, bypassing the sprawling general queue on Dashashwamedh Road. Average sanctum transit time is reduced to 30 to 45 minutes.
• Dress Code Guidelines: Traditional Indian attire is strictly enforced for Sparsha Darshan (touching the sacred Jyotirlinga). Men must wear dhotis; women must wear sarees or salwar-kameez with dupatta. Jeans, trousers, western shorts, and leather belts are prohibited from entering the inner sanctum.

The Sacred Aarti Schedule

• Mangala Aarti (03:00 AM - 04:00 AM): The most auspicious daily ritual where the Lord is awakened with Rudrabhishek and damru rhythms. Strict advance registration required.
• Bhog / Madhyahna Aarti (11:15 AM - 12:20 PM): Midday royal offering of sacred sweets and anna bhog.
• Sandhya Aarti (07:00 PM - 08:15 PM): Spectacular evening musical worship.
• Shayan Aarti (10:30 PM - 11:00 PM): Night retirement ceremony with soft lullabies.
